Mentoring: Follow-Up
Posted on December 14th, 2005 by Jeffrey
Just a quick follow-up to my previous post on mentoring. It’s official, the young man I was talking about was accepted into his alternative school and I was selected as his mentor. Apparently he was required to have 2 mentors apply for the program, but I was chosen.
So my new adventure begins in January. I spoke to him this morning and he seems excited about it. Well … as excited as 16 year olds ever sound about anything.
I’ll keep you posted.
Congrats, to both of you. Hopefully this will be something to help him get his life together.
I mentor also through a program called Compeer here in Buffalo and I have to say it is so rewarding. I am not also looking to do some more volunteer work at Literacy Volunteers… giving is infectous this time of year. Good luck with your new friend and you have my Battle of the Blogs vote!
heh … thanks, frodo.
