Lenny Kravitz and Aerosmith, What a Show!
Mel and I went to see a concert last night that we have been looking forward to for a long time, Lenny Kravitz and Aerosmith. It was an early Valentine’s Day date. I’m an Aerosmith fan which is why I got the tickets as soon as they became available. Mel is a Lenny Kravitz fan which is why she agreed to come with me.
This was by far one of the best shows that I have been to see in recent years, possible ever. That’s saying alot since I have been to see folks like Carlos Santana, and Sarah McLaughlin during the past year.
Lenny started the show with about 90 minutes of funk and rock. I was impressed. Maybe in part because I expected to be unimpressed. I’m not a big fan. His performance was just flawless. At one point he left the stage and walked around the entire floor of the arena. Since Mel and I had first row seats in the first tier, she was able to touch him as he walked by. She was very excited and probably would have gone home with him had he asked.
I was a little worried about Aerosmith when they first started up. Steven Tyler is seriously beginning to show his age of 57. He has faired a bit better than some of the other band members, however. I must say he was a might weak at the beginning of the show, more talking than singing the words of the song. But he came on strong and managed to sing for about 2 hours. The only song I didn’t hear that I really wanted to was “Dude Looks Like a Lady“.
This show was well worth the money we spent, which was about $250 for the two of us. If you get a chance and if it’s not too late, pay the money. You won’t regret it.
