Why Do I Bother?

Author: Jeffrey

This is the first post titled after the blog, and I’m actually asking the question “Why do I bother?” Why do I blog? Why should I?

Think of it as kind of a poll. Let me know why I should keep doing this. Let me know why you blog. What is the meaning of it all?

Cloud Here’s a [tag]fun[/tag] place to visit, Snapshirts.com. You can get a [tag]t-shirt[/tag] printed with a [tag]word cloud[/tag] based on the content of your [tag]blog[/tag]. Advertise your blog in the real world if you dare. It looks kind of fun to me.

Get Rich … (or not)

Author: Jeffrey

I’ve just discovered another way to try to finance this blog addiction of mine. It’s called [tag]AdBrite[/tag], and yes this is an affiliate link.

AdBrite is similar to [tag]AdSense[/tag] in some ways. The ads on your site will look much the same, but the difference is that you set the price for [tag]advertising[/tag]. [tag]Advertisers[/tag] select your site based on [tag]keywords[/tag] and [tag]traffic[/tag] and ask if they can place an [tag]ad[/tag] on your pages. You get to accept or decline each one. If you like, you can allow “network [tag]ads[/tag]” that AdBrite chooses and still get paid a [tag]cost per click[/tag].

I’ve just started this today, but this company has been around for a while and is very successful. If you are interested at all, click on the link above, or in the left column.

… now back to our regularly scheduled [tag]blog[/tag] …

UPDATE: If you are currently running AdSense ads, be sure to select “No” when asked if you would like to display network ads from AdBrite. Network ads from AdBrite will violate your AdSense TOS.

I am amazed at the increase of [tag]traffic[/tag] to this site with nothing more than the addition of regular [tag]technorati[/tag] [tag]tags[/tag]. Yesterday’s traffic total was 78% above the average Thursday in January.

How many other tricks am I missing?
