Why Do I Bother?

Yesterday I took a sick day and stayed home from work for reasons that are probably best not discussed in public. Let’s just say it involved the toilet much of the time. I thought I might feel better today, but it’s looking like that’s not going to be the case. I’ll spare you the gory details. Not that I don’t mind being away from work mind you, but this sick stuff is for the birds.

There’s a point to this … sort of. Did you know that tomorrow, November 19, is World Toilet Day? No shit.

OK, that was a bad joke, but seriously it really is World Toilet day tomorrow. In fact, feel free to mark your calendar for next year, because every November 19th is World Toilet Day. Here’s a little known fact to get you thinking; every minute four children are killed by diarrhea.

So don’t poo poo my toilet troubles. I’m lucky to be alive.

I went to the doctor’s office this morning. I’ve been taking Zantac for a couple years now and it just isn’t doing the trick anymore. For the past few weeks my GIRD has been really bad. I haven’t been able to sleep some nights. I do all the things they tell me too … ok, not all, but some anyway. At any rate, I had to change medications so now I’m taking omeprazole, aka Prilosec. We’ll see how it works.

I was examined by a student PA. I think she was completing some assignment or something ’cause she asked me all the questions that I have ever been asked in all my visits before. I’m sure it was all in my record already, but it was ok.

Those of you who know me, including my wife, are no doubt getting sick of hearing about yet another new web site. But here it is anyway. This one is different though. This one is just for me. I would love to have tons of visitors here, but I’ve decided that the important thing to me is not that as much as being able to express myself.

I’ve got the other websites, of course, but they aren’t the same. At inanebabble.com I have created a pretty controversial site primarily about my political views. It’s a great thing for me, but I am not really able to use the same forum for just talking about what is going on in my life in general. At yourinfospot.com I have created a site that is primarily an experiment to see if I can earn some money from google adsense adds. As of today I have earned 52 cents. But that site isn’t a blog as such so I can’t do this there either. The old news.deleon-benham.com isn’t working properly and I am unable to get the old data back. So you see … I realy do need another web site.

Anyway … thanks for dropping by. And thanks for leaving your comments, it helps to validate my efforts. Look for more personal posts in the future.
