Thanksgiving Travels

Thanksgiving day turned out fine. Mel and I had lunch with my family and then drove directly up to Kirkland to see her mother, sister, and our niece.
Lunch with my family was nice. We’re only doing the big extended family gathering every other year these days since everyone has big families of their own to gather with. We had over 65 people this year. It was especially nice to see my cousin Rebecca and her family. I haven’t seen them for about 8 years. I have to say, I look forward to next year though. I really enjoy cooking dinner for just our family.
After eating way too much with my family we drove about 3 1/2 hours to Kirkland where we shared dinner with Mel’s family. I have really grown to love them very much. Mel’s sister Emily is turning 30 next week and Mel and her mother planned a surprise party for her with all of her friends. It was a lot of fun, but I’m afraid I don’t really fit in with them. We stayed a couple days and drove home this afternoon.

YAY!! You’re cooking?!! I’m so GLAD that you made that decision hehe. Mom will be happy. =)
and you drove the whole way there and back…who is the best??
